My path to success - experiences and challenges
After more than 26 years working at the coal face of farming across the UK and New Zealand.
I’ve spent my entire adult life in agriculture not advising from the sidelines, but boots on, sleeves rolled up, living it day in and day out. I left college at 19 and went straight onto farms, learning the craft by doing it, getting it wrong, getting it right and getting better every season.
Now at 44, I’m a working farm manager running a 650‑cow spring‑calving herd. I’m still in the thick of it. Early starts, late finishes, team challenges, weather curveballs, and the pressure to make good decisions when the stakes are high. I’ve run teams, built teams, rebuilt teams, and most importantly, taken my team with me.
I’ve lived the life. I speak the language. I understand the realities that don’t show up in leadership books. The people dynamics in the yard, the stress that builds in busy periods, the conversations you put off because you’re tired or stretched, the pride in seeing someone grow, and the weight of responsibility when you’re the one others look to.

Agri Coach UK was born from my passion to support the people who keep agriculture moving. To help farmers, managers, and rural professionals build confidence, strengthen relationships, and grow into the leaders they want to be. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you unlock your potential, navigate challenges, and create a healthier, more sustainable future for yourself and your team.
Over 26 years, I’ve learnt lessons the hard way and the right way, and I’m still learning on the job. That’s what makes my coaching different. I’m not here to “tell” farmers how to lead from a distance . I’m here to support them from experience. Real, practical, tested in the yard experience.
AgriCoach.uk exists because I know how tough this industry can be, and how powerful it is when people feel empowered, clear, and confident in their role.
My goal is simple: help farmers, team members and agri leaders become the kind of leaders people want to follow, without losing themselves in the process.
